What do you think about science technology and the conflicts of interest between the privates compagies and the gorvernement?

Science will constantly be pushing limits on laws that the government has put in place. Such as laws on genetic manipulation, cloning, biological weapons, etc…
Technology has some unbelievable applications in our world but at what cost?
