what is the relationship of science, technology and society?

Science is the pursuit of truth. Technology is the application of science. And Society should leave both alone!

By Society, I assume you refer to Governments. The recent legislation prohibiting some stem cell research is a prime example. The scientific research into stem cells may one day lead to a technological advance that will allow us to cure cancer. That is, if our society (government) will stop prohibiting research based on misguided moral issues.
